Reminder to all who use The Nonantum Eruv that it's the time of year to support it if you can.
Although the Greater Boston Eruv Corporation conducts the weekly inspection for us, the Adams Street Shul pays for this service, and we also pay directly the electrician who makes the repairs.
Most people don't think of The Nonantum Eruv as a weekly event, but providing it is very much a weekly project of our congregation. Just as we work behind the scenes to provide a Kiddush, a Third Meal, and a Torah Reader, so too do we maintain the eruv from our Shul's funds.
Every Thursday afternoon, two specially trained employees inspect the entire boundary of our eruv and call in repair orders. We have an electrician on retainer, standing by with a bucket truck every Friday, to make any needed repairs.
Finally, the status message (which you can see on our website and hear at 781-446-9797 on Friday afternoons) is updated. This process ensures that our eruv is "up" almost every Sabbath.
The Adams Street Synagogue offers sponsorship of The Nonantum Eruv each Shabbos for only $54. Sponsoring this weekly service of the shul is an opportunity to honor an individual, memorialize a loved one, or celebrate a simcha.
The eruv is much appreciated, as it encourages more people to participate in our Shabbat services and to join our community.
If you've enjoyed bring anything to or from the Shul on the Sabbath, or to each other's homes, please make an eruv donation now by clicking here.
