Picnic With the Trees!
Join us on Sunday afternoon May 4 for our annual Picnic With the Trees. This event is for all the Jews of the Greater Boston area. This event has been missing since Covid struck, but this year we are restoring it. We will gather in the yard of the Wagner Family, at 202 Chapel Street, in Newton.
Bring your own picnic lunch. The Adams Street Shul will provide desserts and drinks. The Wagner Family will provide bunnies for kids to pet and feed. Hashem will provide the beautiful weather* and fruit trees.
There is a blessing that we can say only once a year.(at most) when we first see two (or more) different kinds of fruit trees in bloom simultaneously. At the picnic, guest rabbis will share thoughts on trees. And then we will all get to say the blessing over the trees together.
Participation is free. Donations are appreciated. To help us plan for the desserts and drinks and seating, please visit https://picnic-with-the-trees.EventBrite.com to register. Thanks! Looking forward to lovely gathering.
* In case of bad weather, we will hold the event at The Adams Street Shul, and you can do a "brive-by berachah." I that case, don't bring a picnic lunch; the Shul will provide a kosher/dairy lunch. If unsure, visit this website to check on the location.
